The Living Your Purpose program is designed to identify community-based interests and preferred activities of the individuals we service.
At Living Your Purpose, individuals are paired with caring adults who provide the support necessary to access resources within the community.
These daily activities embrace their specific interests, promote their ability to successfully meet their life skill objectives and provide growth opportunities necessary for the individuals to reach their highest potential so that they might live a fully expressed and joyful life.
Our Living Your Purpose program is also designed to support individuals in their decision-making process, respect their opinions, and prioritize their feelings to ensure they have access to self-determination.
At Living Your Purpose, we embody the motto "Nothing about me without me!"
Social events like coffee mornings, movie nights, or potluck dinners. - Group outings to local attractions, parks, or museums. - Clubs or interest groups, such as book clubs, art clubs, or hobby groups
Workshops on life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, or using public transportation. Educational classes, including basic literacy, computer skills, or continuing education courses. - Job training and vocational workshops to help participants find or maintain employment.
Arts and crafts sessions, such as painting, pottery, or jewelry making. - Music, dance, or drama classes. - Photography or digital art workshops.
Wellness programs, including nutrition education and healthy cooking classes. - Mental health support, such as stress management workshops or support groups. - Access to healthcare professionals for consultations or regular check-ups. Adaptive sports or recreational activities like swimming, bowling, or yoga. - Exercise classes tailored to various abilities, such as chair exercises or dance.
Opportunities to volunteer in the community, such as helping at local events or organizations. - Community service projects to promote a sense of purpose and engagement. - Advocacy and self-advocacy training to empower participants to speak up for their rights and needs. Our team works collaboratively with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure that each participant receives the support they need to succeed.
Classes on using technology, such as smartphones, tablets, or computers. - Access to assistive technology and training on how to use it. - Media creation projects, like making videos or podcasts. Programs should be designed with input from the participants to ensure they meet their needs and interests. It's also essential to provide options that cater to different levels of ability and accessibility needs. We support our trainees on developing the skills and knowledge they need to successfully transition to the next phase of their lives, whether that be college, career, or independent living.
Also known as an assisted living or residential care facility, provides various services to support residents who may need assistance with daily activities or have specific health needs. Common services include:
Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Coordination with healthcare professionals for medication management, regular health assessments, and access to medical services. Some facilities may also have on-site nursing staff.
24-hour staff availability, emergency response systems, and secure premises to ensure resident's safety.
Provision of three meals a day, along with snacks. Special dietary needs or preferences are often accommodated.
On-site or coordinated access to physical or occupational therapy services.
The specific services offered can vary depending on the facility's focus and the needs of its residents.
Organized activities, social events, outings, and recreational opportunities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
